Des Moines Register Explores Success of Jeremiah Program

The Des Moines Register profiled Jeremiah Program in a front-page feature on December 28, 2013. Reporter Mary Stegmeir and her videographer spent a day on the Minneapolis campus, interviewing President & CEO Gloria Perez, Minneapolis-St. Paul Executive Director Lucy Gerold, and resident Amira Masri (and daughter Arcadia!). Deseret News Profiles Jeremiah Program

“By extending ladders of opportunity to single mothers and their families, we can make a dent in child poverty, educate and equip children for tomorrow’s workforce, and increase our economic competitiveness,” Jeremiah Program President & CEO Gloria Perez says in a major profile in Deseret News, the major newspaper of Salt Lake City. Integrating Pro Bono: Bringing regular legal access to Jeremiah Program moms

As part of national Pro Bono Week 2013 (October 20-26), the Minnesota State Bar Association sponsored a morning continuing legal education program, “Integrating Pro Bono,” featuring Jeremiah Program’s collaboration with Call for Justice, the law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, the law firm of Lindquist & Vennum, and Volunteer Lawyers Network.  This unique collaboration brings regular legal access to Jeremiah Program moms on such issues as child custody, child support, wills, health care directives, expungements, and any other legal matter that are barriers to success.
