Cycle Bar of West Fargo hosted a packed house July 21st with more than 40 riders who donated their time, talent and sweat in support of Jeremiah Program. In tandem, Rasmussen College hosted more than 150 visitors for its annual community barbecue at the Fargo campus. More than 60 volunteers gave their time and donations reached more than $3,000 for the day’s events. Thanks for all you’re doing to support single mothers and their kids, and changing their futures two generations at a time.
Almost 100 Twin Cities young professionals gathered last Wednesday night at Wild Mind Ales in south Minneapolis to network and learn more about Jeremiah Program. Sponsored by PROPEL, Jeremiah’s young professional board, this was the 4th annual beer tasting.
During a short program, Jeremiah graduate, Adara, spoke about her experience at Jeremiah and what led her to the Jeremiah Program. Adara and her daughter moved into Jeremiah in 2010 and she graduated in 2013. Adara emphasized in her speech that Jeremiah is for determined single mothers and it’s not an easy program. She says of Jeremiah, “This is not a program for those seeking a handout, this is a program for women and mothers who are ready to help themselves.”
Adara also spoke about how her Empowerment classes, a 16 week series of classes mothers must complete before being accepted to Jeremiah Program, helped her let go of what she couldn’t control and realize that “Jeremiah is much more than a building to live in, it’s a community to grow in.”
It was a beautiful night with great beer and the opportunity to sign up for volunteer opportunities at Jeremiah, meet other young professionals and relax before finishing up the week. Thank you to everyone who came out to support Jeremiah families!
