The Austin Housing Finance Corporation’s Board of Directors unanimously has approved a $2 million commitment to the Guadalupe Neighborhood Development Corporation (GNDC), Jeremiah Program’s partner in Austin, TX. The funding will support the creation of deeply affordable housing that is part of a permanent Jeremiah Program campus serving low-income single parents and their children in the Central Texas community.
The 47,000-square foot campus will provide two-bedroom apartment homes to 35 families and will be part of the Guadalupe-Saldana Net-Zero Subdivision in East Austin, also being developed by GNDC. The Jeremiah campus will include an accredited, on-site early childhood development center to serve up to 60 children, ample community space, and offices for support staff. Construction on the permanent campus is slated to begin in early 2015.
