Michelle & Cassidy
St. Paul Graduates
Michelle freely admits that before she came to Jeremiah Program she had little direction. “Every day was passive. I was going nowhere. But I wanted something better. I didn’t have anything good going on in my life.”
But through the encouragement of a friend, she found Jeremiah and her life has taken a 180-degree turn. “I feel empowered. I just got a degree and I know I can do anything I want.”
Michelle came to the program with poor self-esteem. “I was letting others choose for me, but empowerment taught me to take responsibility. I learned to set goals and meet them.”
Michelle graduated from St. Paul College and now is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in family social science at the University of Minnesota. She plans to be a high school counselor after graduating.
Her daughter is “smart, smart, smart,” Michelle says, and is thriving in Jeremiah’s
Child Development Center.
Michelle tells women who are new to the program, “Push through the hard times. Don’t let anybody dictate what you can do. And do what’s best for your family. That’s what I am doing.”
