Shamrock Wealth Management celebrated International Women’s Day in March by putting out a call to contribute items for welcome baskets for families on Jeremiah’s Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses. What happened next took Shamrock leaders by surprise.
“Contributions poured in, from our employees and then from clients who heard about the project,” says Will Berigan, president of the firm. “We were stunned by the response.”
Shamrock’s lobby overflowed with laundry baskets filled with cleaning supplies, sheets, towels and other items that are expensive for Jeremiah families. “It was clear really quickly that even though the request was pretty simple, the impact was pretty immediate and big,” says Berigan. In addition, Shamrock collected nearly $800 in cash for Jeremiah. Shamrock leaders loaded an SUV to the brim, delivered the supplies and took a tour of the St. Paul campus.
Berigan says Shamrock takes seriously its commitment “to do things for people we live with and to be connected to our community. And after touring Jeremiah, we were pretty convinced about the returns on investment.”
