Jeremiah Program New York is seeking a motivated, resourceful and tech-savvy student to serve as a social media intern.
The intern will work directly with the Development Manager (DM) to strategize, craft and execute content for all platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. This role will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence and gaining visibility of our brand among partners, clients, and candidates.
Assist DM to employ innovative tactics to grow the audiences of our social media networks
Maintain a monthly social media and blogging calendar (under supervision from DM)
Scheduling and coordinating a monthly brainstorming meeting with program team to establish content ideas for the month ahead, and to plan for a monthly social media, editorial, marketing, and blogging calendar
Conceptualize, create and publish daily content that enhances affinity for JP NY, shares stories of our community’s successes’, build meaningful connections and encourages continued engagement
Work with DM to create and send one email broadcast per month
Review performance data of social media platforms and adjust the strategies to optimize outreach
Using Google, search on keywords and research competitors’ platforms
Track key social media analytics on a monthly basis
Comfortable working in a shared space environment
Available to work 12 hours per week
Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program to receive credit
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Creative self-starter with a passion for empowering women
Openness to learn and willingness to try new things
Familiarity with social media analytics such as Facebook insights to assess trends
Experience with basic photo editing and video editing is not necessary but is a plus
Experience with mainstream social media platforms
Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with the team
Be flexible and willing to take on other tasks in this start-up environment
This is an unpaid internship @12 hours per week between the hours of 9:30 am–5:30 pm, Monday through Friday in our New York City office located in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, NY. We encourage you to use this internship to gain course credit and to research “work-study” grants with your college (if that is an option).
