Reports To: Volunteer Manager
Jeremiah Program – MSP is seeking a fulltime Volunteer Coordinator that would be responsible for coordinating the campus volunteer program.
Responsible for coordinating the campus Volunteer Program. This role supports the Volunteer Manager by ensuring the programming needs of Jeremiah Program are met with volunteers. This position will have responsibility for onboarding and placement of daytime and evening volunteers. This position will require evening shifts during the school year.
1. Volunteer Coordination
Responsible for recruiting, onboarding and training volunteers across all programs.
Supervise evening programming volunteers (e.g. Childcare, Cook for Kids, and Life Skills facilitators) providing support as needed to ensure smooth program operations and ongoing communication with Jeremiah Program staff and families.
Supervise hospitality desk volunteers.
Coordinate with Family Coach to track tutor requests and placements.
Assist with volunteer recruiting efforts (e.g., service fairs, online recruitment, speaking events, etc.) as necessary.
Assist and track program participant recruitment efforts as it aligns with volunteer recruitment efforts.
Assist with the planning and execution of onetime and group volunteer events.
Assist with collection and reporting of timely, accurate volunteer data and contributions in Volunteer Hub database.
Assist with planning and execution of Volunteer Appreciation Events.
Ensure that volunteers work in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment in accordance with all appropriate facility guidelines.
2. Program Support
Provide support to program staff to track and coordinate in-kind donation needs (e.g. seasonal drives, Family Fun Day, and Adopt- A- Family.
Collaborate with Resident Council Leaders and Family Coach to support community partnerships and events.
3. Other Duties as assigned
All Jeremiah Program employees are mandated reporters and are legally required to ensure a report is made when abuse is observed or suspected.
4. Other Duties for Volunteer Coordinator with 40 units or less
Plan formal and informal recognition activities to recognize the contributions of volunteers to the campus.
Responsible for proactively and professionally recruiting and placing volunteers within all key areas of Jeremiah Program organization, ensuring that staff supervision and training from the appropriate departments are in place.
Work in partnership with Jeremiah Program staff to ascertain and agree on highest priority volunteer resource needs.
Build alliances with key community constituencies (corporate, education, civic, congregations of faith and political) to develop on-going, effective and efficient volunteer streams.
Assess needs of volunteers to enhance program and service delivery.
Lead interviewing and screen process of potential volunteers to ensure the best match between skills, qualifications, and interest of the volunteers and the needs of the campus.
Commitment to support, promote and authentically communicate Jeremiah Program’s mission.
A bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, education and 1-2 years’ experience working with, or supervising volunteers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to troubleshoot
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Certified in First Aid/CPR
Ability to multi-task and work independently.
Proficiency in computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, and proficient in volunteer management database systems.
