There are 17,000 single mothers living in poverty in the Austin area with 42,924 children under the age of 18. These families need the support Jeremiah Program can provide to help them move from poverty to prosperity.
On March 6, 2017, Jeremiah cut the ribbon on a new campus at 1200 Paul Teresa Saldaña Street to serve 35 determined single moms and their young children. The campus is adjacent to the four duplexes build in collaboration with Guadalupe Neighborhood Development Corporation in 2013.
The new 49,865-square foot building includes 35 two-bedroom apartments, an on-site accredited five-classroom child development center for up to 60 children, two covered playground areas, empowerment and life skills classrooms, gathering spaces, and staff offices.
