Dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers are a critically important part of our vibrant campus communities. Together we help single moms and their children learn, grow and succeed. Your commitment of time and talent can make a measurable difference in the success of our families.

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups. Training is provided, as needed, to ensure a positive experience.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are volunteer-driven. More than 1,400 volunteers contribute nearly 19,200 hours annually to help us break the cycle of poverty two generations at a time. Click the + sign next to each volunteer opportunity to learn more.

Child Care

Help care for the children of Jeremiah while their mothers attend work, school, Life Skills classes and Resident Council meetings.

Experience: Childcare experience, interest, and/or education; enjoy working with

Frequency: Monday evenings (6:15-8:15pm) and daytime hours needed M-F.

Flexible and weekly scheduling available; 6-month commitment preferred; training and background check required.

Cook For Kids

Purchase, prepare and drop off a meal for families on the evenings when mothers attend  Empowerment and Life Skills programming.

Frequency: Monday and Tuesday evenings and Wednesday afternoons. Food is dropped off before 4 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays and before 11 am on Wednesdays. Prepare a meal once, once a month, once a quarter; it’s up to you.

Perfect team building service opportunity for corporations, faith communities, civic organizations, families, friends, and neighbors.

Hospitality Desk

Represent Jeremiah Program by hosting our front desk. Greet residents, guests and staff; answer phones; light administrative duties.

Experience: Comfortable with answering phones, light administrative duties, and interacting with guests

Frequency: Monday-Friday, 2 shifts available (9am to 1pm) and (1pm to 5pm). Throughout the year, depending on evening programming, there is a 3pm to 6pm shift during the week. Weekly or bi-weekly commitment preferred.

This position is critical in order to help maintain the smooth operations of our campus.

Life Skills Facilitator

Join a team of facilitators who guide women through a planned curriculum for Life Skills, focusing on topics such as parenting, health and wellness, economic independence, and career readiness.

Experience: Group facilitation experience, high comfort level working with a diverse population, creativity and flexibility.

Frequency: Monday or Tuesday evenings, 6-8pm. Wednesday afternoons, 12-1:30pm. One-year commitment.

Attend Life Skills training course provided by Jeremiah Program staff, plus additional training/development opportunities throughout the year. Life Skills facilitators are asked to submit a resume in addition to the volunteer application and are selected through a competitive interview process.

Special Events

Volunteer with us for our special events throughout the year. Volunteers play such an important role in making all of our events possible. Our biggest event of the year is our fall annual fundraiser Epic Battle. If you are interested in learning more about our special events, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator for more information.

Experience: Dedication and a desire to have fun!

Frequency: Various times throughout the year, with our fundraiser happening in the fall.

Welcome Baskets

Welcome our new participant families by providing a welcome basket brimming with items that are useful when settling into a new home.

Frequency: Flexible, there is always an on-going need.

This is a great group endeavor. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator for the itemized list for the Welcome Baskets.


Support a resident in her post-secondary education journey by sharing your knowledge in a subject area of your strength.

Experience: Strength in one or more subject areas and a desire to help others succeed academically

Frequency: Flexible; dependent upon students’ individual needs and school/work schedule

Examples of subject areas include: math, psychology, writing, presentation skills, economics, biology/science, humanities, etc. Orientation and background check required.


Jeremiah Program occasionally has opportunities for internships. Please complete a volunteer application and include internship requirements or guidelines and we will follow up with you. Applicants typically have completed one year of college and must be 18 years of age.
