Volunteer

We are volunteer driven. More than 3,000 volunteers contribute their time and talents nationally to our organization. It is through dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers that we help single mothers and their children learn, grow and succeed. Your commitment to our mission makes a measurable difference in the lives of the families that we serve.

We couldn’t do it without you!

  • Evening Childcare

Assist in providing quality care for children at Jeremiah Program during our evening programming. Volunteers will help to engage children in activities such as reading, arts & crafts, and active play that promote their cognitive, social and emotional development. If you love working with kids this is the volunteer opportunity for you!

Frequency: Tuesdays (6:10 – 8:10 pm) during the spring and fall semester – we ask for a full semester commitment volunteering at least two evenings a month

Requirements: 60 minute orientation and a background check

  • Cook for Kids

Volunteers purchase, prepare, and drop off a meal for families during our daytime and evening programming. Preparing a meal for families is a wonderful way to build an enriching community here at Jeremiah Program. Lovingly prepared meals not only provide nutrition but also create the foundation for great conversations and connections.

Frequency: Tuesday evenings and Wednesday afternoons during the spring and fall semester – flexible scheduling available

    Requirements: 30 minute orientation

  • Facilitators

Join a team of facilitators who guide the women of Jeremiah Program through a planned curriculum focused on parenting, health and wellness, economic independence, career readiness and empowerment. This is a great role for volunteers who are comfortable with group facilitation, have a high comfort level working with a diverse population, and who are flexible and creative. We require a yearlong commitment and offer ongoing training for this volunteer role.

Frequency: Day of facilitation depends on facilitator role – Tuesday evenings or Wednesdays during the day or evening; fall and spring semesters

Requirements: Attend all facilitator trainings provided by Jeremiah Program and a background check. Must submit a resume along with a volunteer application.

  • Special Events

Volunteer with us for our special events. This is a great opportunity for those who want to be involved in furthering our mission, but desire flexibility and variety. Some of our events include our annual fundraisers and celebrations that we host for families throughout the year.

Frequency: Various times during the year – our big fundraisers occur in April and October

  • Donation Drive

Host a donation drive for families.

Material donations are essential in supporting our mission. If you’re interested in learning what some of our donation needs are please email our Volunteer Coordinator

  • Group Volunteer Projects

Help us with our quarterly campus cleanup or create a project tailored to the needs of our community. These projects can be done offsite or at our campus throughout the year. Group volunteer projects are on a needs basis, so please fill out our group volunteer application form for review.
