Melea Nalli

Chief Operating Officer

Melea Nalli serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Jeremiah Program. She joins JP after more than 25 years of experience working toward educational equity in urban and rural communities across the United States. She started her career as a special education teacher and went on to serve in various leadership roles in national education nonprofits. She also co-founded a nonprofit that provides trauma-informed/healing-centered yoga inside prisons, domestic shelters, and recovery clinics. Once settling in Portland, Maine, she became the Assistant Superintendent and then interim Superintendent for the Portland Public Schools.

She’s been consulting and providing executive coaching to leaders across sectors for the past year with a focus on Soul-Full HR and conscious leadership practices. She received her bachelor’s degree in sociology and Africana studies from Bowdoin College and her master’s in education leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education through a Kennedy School social entrepreneurs fellowship.
