What Is Your Proudest “Mom Moment”?
Jeremiah Program moms and alumni recently told us about their proudest moments as mothers. Find out what they said!
JP moms are some of the most awe-inspiring women we know, and we’re proud of them every day.
They deserve to recognize their accomplishments, too! See what some of our moms said was their proudest “mom moment.”
One JP mom considered this idea in a holistic way. “My proudest mom moment is continuing to show up for my children and to continue to be there no matter what challenges that we may face along the way,” she said, “and showing them that anything is possible as long as they keep doing the best that they need to do.”
Another reflected on the world she is creating for her child. “I am so proud that I have given my daughter a space that she can explore and learn and grow, and she has the peace to be able to explore her mind.”
Other moms expressed pride in knowing that they give their children a sense of trust and certainty. One mom told us, “Sometimes when they see me working too hard, they say, ‘Mommy, it’s OK to slow down. You do enough for us.’” She added, “They see what I’m doing and that I love them.”
Another said, “They know mama’s got it. … I love that they trust me. They know mama’s on their side.”
A JP alum identified a particular moment at a park when she and her daughter noticed that a child was crying and having a hard time with another kid. Bringing her mother to the child in distress, this alum’s daughter assured the other child that her mother would fix the situation. “In that moment, I felt like my child’s superhero or superwoman to my child,” she recalled, “and it’s my proudest moment that my daughter believes that, no matter what storm, mommy can fix it — not just for her but for other children as well.”
JP moms are indeed super. From handling the massiveness of parenting solo to managing work, household chores, and more, single moms often do it all without the recognition or support they deserve.
At JP, we recognize and support these women who exhibit daily acts of courage, resilience, and love for their families. That’s why we not only celebrate our moms every day — we take action and we show up.
We hope you’ll join us!
This Mother’s Day, let’s do more than celebrate. Let’s take action. Let’s show up.
