Ahead of the 2025 Boston Voices Rising showcase, several moms shared how the JP Boston community helps them feel fearless.
Building Community, Building Confidence
It’s not uncommon for a mom to begin her JP journey feeling uncertain about what to expect, but she soon finds that the sisterhood steps in. Alethia remembers starting out timid and unsure, but over time, she found a true sense of community in motherhood. “It’s nice to have other moms that are experiencing the same things as you … and for our children to grow together and learn together.”
Laura shares how being surrounded by others who understand her journey helps her trust herself more deeply. Tiara echoes this: “We’re able to realize and recognize that we’re not on this journey alone,” she says. “We can accomplish anything.”
Nyesha describes finding her groove within the community, while Lashemia highlights the inclusiveness that defines JP Boston: “No matter where I am, no matter what we’re doing, I always feel included. I always feel that my voice is going to be heard.”
Building Legacy Two Generations at a Time
Fearlessness at JP Boston isn’t just about today — it’s about shaping tomorrow. JP moms are building legacies for their children, modeling resilience and determination. Tiara reflects on her journey and its impact on her children. “They’re able to grow up and see a mom who does not quit,” she says. “Now they have that fighting chance.”
Lashemia puts it simply: “JP has definitely helped to change the direction of my life, my daughter’s life — two generations at a time.”
JP moms are rewriting what’s possible for themselves, their families, and their communities. They are fearless, not because the path is easy but because they walk it together.
